Chocolate! I NEED chocolate!

We don’t care who you vote for (well, really, we do, but we avoid political bickering around here). But we definitely think all Americans should vote! So, even though we politely decline political ads, we were excited at the opportunity to put together the 2010 “Vote! Kansas” spot for the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office (because good citizenship crosses party lines).

I can’t remember the last time I watched something on live TV. As a working mom with two kids, I DVR practically everything I view. I even watched K-State post-season basketball on DVR. Give the game a few minutes head start while doing the dishes, and then skip through the agonizing TV timeouts. Now, as someone in the marketing and communications business, admitting my growing dependence on DVR might seem…well…bad for business.

Everyone around here (except maybe Shawn) is a sucker for the opportunity to get dressed up for a night on the town. So, we always look forward to caravanning to the Capitol City for the annual ADDY awards show, dressed in our after-Christmas-clearance best and dusted-off heels (except maybe for Shawn…who did look equally stunning and dust-free).
After all, when else do you get to dress up in your glittery finest and come home with as many medals as Michael Phelps?

After spending an entire day in August photographing the team at American Pest Management, I have great respect for this family-owned business that has been serving our area for more than 30 years.

To compete in today’s roller-coaster economy, it’s essential to have a clear vision of what you want your business to be when it grows up. While it’s much easier to allow yourself to get bogged down working IN your business, your livelihood can be won or lost by how dedicated you are to working ON your business.
