We enjoyed a lot of “product research” for this project (our fridge was always stocked with inspiration). Working closely with the founder of Tallgrass Brewing Company, Jeff Gill, we developed a brand that is modern and high class, yet with a somewhat organic, Midwestern feel. We’ve completed all the company’s product packaging for each brew, ranging from tap handles to bottle caps, labels to 6- and 12-pack boxes, as well as print and environmental advertising and promotional items. We also created their website with a content management system so the company can maintain it themselves.
A year after launching retail sales to great success (first-year sales were $500,000), Tallgrass brews are now distributed through Anheuser-Busch. This is the first time the Anheuser-Busch distribution network has worked with a craft beer outside its alliance of products. Product packaging won a Gold ADDY® from the Topeka Advertising Federation and a Silver ADDY® from District 9 of the American Advertising Federation (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa).
