What We Did
4-H is an amazing organization that’s all about helping kids learn and grow. They just needed help getting the word out to potential new members. 4-H is for kids ages 7 to 18, but we decided to focus on younger kids whose free time wouldn’t be completely spoken for yet. Our client also wanted to make it clear that 4-H is not just about livestock and the fair; there are an endless number of activities, from woodworking to photography to gardening.
We started out by meeting with current members and their parents, and writing taglines to drive the campaign (one version for kids and another for parents, since they’re interested in different benefits of 4-H). And then came the fun stuff. We created cartoon-style posters, fliers, and ads, and a matching website design. We also whipped up an animated commercial that shows how much fun 4-H can be, and features a kid speaking directly to other kids. The end goal was to drive parents and kids to the website, where they could find out how to join.
Results
In less than a year, the JoinKansas4-H.org website has had 2,255 unique visitors, and a total of 9,118 page views.
Nine months after the commercial was posted on YouTube, it has nearly 1,600 hits.
